Flintshire Council to process claims quicker with ‘Drive-Thru Benefits’

The UK’s first ever Drive-Thru Dole Office has opened its doors in Flintshire today, in a bid to help ease the pressure of mounting claims.
Rather than queueing for hours to submit forms, claimants will simply meander round the building in their cars before arriving at an intercom, where they will be asked which benefits they would like to claim for.
Employee Emma Jones, who will be manning the serving hatch, said: “I have to ask them questions like: “Are you small, medium or large?”
“If they answer large, I’m able to upgrade them to Disability Living Allowance for an extra £250 a month. It’s a much simpler process”.
