The UK’s first ‘charity charity shop’, a charity shop that sells items that other Buckley charity shops were unable to sell, has opened its doors in Buckley today.

The shop has been on the cards for several months, following a dramatic slump in all 23 of Buckley’s existing charity shops.

“When things fail to sell in charity shops, the items have to go somewhere, so I thought why not gather them all into one place?”, explained owner, Angela Jones.

When quizzed on the kind of bargains locals can expect to find, she said: “We really are talking lower-end items here, like a nozzle for a hoover that no longer exists, a broken Happy Meal toy and a pencil sharpener with the blade missing.

“If this fails, there’s always the option of opening a charity charity charity shop, which I have no doubt would do extremely well”.
