Banksy’s ‘Dismaland’ facing copyright infringement claims from Rhyl tourist board

World-renowned artist Banksy could be facing serious court action from the Rhyl tourism board over ‘Dismaland’ this week, which they claim is ‘a clear case of copyright infringement’ on their seafront amusement arcades and rides.

Head of the board, Simon Price, said: “It’s come to my attention that an artist of some description has created a depressing and apocalyptic exhibition that attempts to pass itself off as fun tourist attraction. This is blatantly a Rhyl rip off and we’re not best pleased to say the least”.

Banksy is yet to respond to the claims, but has insisted in earlier statements that Dismaland is a creation of his own, and is merely a satirical take on commercialism and our view of modern-day entertainment.

“What a load of bollocks”, continued Price. “If you’re unsure if Dismaland is a complete Rhyl rip off, just look at the burnt out police van, dead seagulls and derelict buildings. Too much of a coincidence if you ask me.

“We’re going to sue this pretentious bastard for every penny he’s got”.
